Rock Rail forges second DB Regio financing deal with K&L Gates and Clifford
A railway revolution is on the horizon as Deutsche Bahn‘s subsidiary, DB Regio, announces a dynamic partnership for the financing of 18 state-of-the-art Siemens trains set to debut on the central German S-Bahn network. In a strategic move, the rail operator has enlisted the support of British finance specialists Rock Rail for the second time, further solidifying their commitment to advancing rail transportation in the region.
The collaboration with Rock Rail, known for its prowess in rail finance, is a testament to DB Regio’s dedication to innovation and efficiency. Through a unique financial structure, Rock Rail will lease 18 four-car Mireo trains to DB Regio. Spearheading the consortium providing external capital for the trains is Meag, the asset manager for Munich Re and Ergo. This marks Rock Rail’s debut collaboration with London-based Infracapital on the equity side in the German market.
