That’s how much Apple’s general counsel earned in 2023
Apple‘s general counsel, Kate Adams (pictured), received a compensation package exceeding $26.9 million in the fiscal year 2023, primarily stemming from approximately $22.3 million in stock grants, as detailed in the company’s annual proxy statement.
In details, Adams was granted a base salary of $1 million, plus nearly $3.6 million in compensation from non-equity incentive plans, according to Apple (not so far from the $26.9 million Adams got in 2021 and marginally lower than the $27.1 million of 2022).
Having joined Apple in 2017 to succeed D. Bruce Sewell as chief legal officer and corporate secretary, Adams, a former Sidley Austin partner and former general counsel and vice president at Honeywell International, has consistently ranked among the highest-paid legal leaders in the corporate sphere.
According to Bloomberg’s data, Adams currently holds approximately $54.6 million in Apple stocks. Over the past year, she has divested herself of more than $46.5 million in company shares, as per securities filings.
