White & Case advises E.ON on CHF140m green notes

White & Case advised E.ON SE on the issuance of green notes with a principal amount of CHF 140 million. The notes carry a nine-year term and a fixed coupon of 1.440%, and have been admitted to trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

E.ON will use an amount equivalent to the net proceeds of the issuance to finance or refinance, in whole or in part, new and/or existing eligible green assets and/or capital expenditures, together forming the Eligible Green Portfolio as set out in the issuer’s Green Financing Framework.

E.ON’s internal legal department advised on the transaction through Cora Hartan. The White & Case team, based in Frankfurt, was led by partner Karsten Wöckener, together with counsel Peter Becker, associate Robin Pichler and transaction lawyer Nejc Jereb.
