Martin Düker joins United Internet as new group general counsel
Martin Düker (56, pictured), former legal counsel at EnBW, has joined the MDax group United Internet as new group general counsel. His task will be to establish a legal team at the corporate level, which will primarily support the legal teams in the four major subsidiaries (which are, in addition to the two SDax companies 1&1 and Ionos, also1&1 Versatel and 1&1 Mail and Media Application). All four group companies have their own legal departments.
Düker reports to CFO Ralf Harting and takes the place of Markus Kadelke, who held the role of group general counsel of United Internet from 2018 until the end of 2022. In 2023, he took over the management of the legal department of 1&1 Mail & Media Applications, temporarily fulfilling the role that Düker now assumes.
Düker will serve as a contact person for the subsidiary companies at the group level, especially in corporate and group law. M&A transactions as well as issues at the interfaces to tax, accounting, and labor law fall within his area of responsibility. Düker, based in Montabaur, will also bring his experience in legal management into close cooperation with the operational legal teams.
His career began at CMS Hasche Sigle in Stuttgart, where he was last active as a salary partner. In 2006, he moved to the legal department of EnBW. There, the corporate and capital market lawyer held various roles in upper management over the eighteen years, but also at the board level of the association that manages the covering assets of EnBW’s company pension scheme.
