Leadership transition in Leoni’s legal department
Nuremberg-based automotive supplier Leoni has witnessed a changing of the guard at its legal helm since the start of the year: Dr. Raffael Cammareri (37, pictured) has stepped into the shoes of the longstanding General Counsel, Dr. Christian Bienemann (58).
Cammareri joined Leoni in the summer of 2019 as Senior Legal Counsel, bringing with him three years of experience from PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal in Nuremberg. His ascent within Leoni’s legal ranks continued, and by early 2021, he assumed the role of Head of Legal Group Corporate Affairs. He oversaw matters related to corporate law, governance, M&A, and also played a pivotal role in the legal team’s handling of antitrust issues. As Head of Legal Group Corporate Affairs, he was intimately involved in steering the company through the challenges of the Ukraine conflict, when the company had to relocate part of its production commitments from Ukrainian plants to other facilities due to the outbreak of the war.
In his new role as Head of Legal, Cammareri reports directly to the CEO. His purview extends beyond the usual spectrum of business and corporate law to include financing matters and internal advisory roles for the board and supervisory board. Additionally, he grapples with issues concerning intellectual property and IT law.
Leoni is one of twelve partner companies collaborating on the development of an autonomous driving truck, led by MAN Truck & Bus.
