DLA Piper with Mutares on the acquisition of Hirschvogel Incorporated

DLA Piper has advised Mutares on the acquisition of Hirschvogel Incorporated from Hirschvogel Holding. The company will be integrated into the FerrAl United Group as a new subsidiary and renamed Walor North America.

With the add-on investment, Mutares strengthens FerrAl United Group’s presence in the US market for iron and aluminium-based castings and forgings. It is the first deal for Mutares in the US following the opening of the Mutares Chicago office.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Hirschvogel Inc. specializes in the forging and machining of steel components. With around 320 employees, the company generated sales of around EUR100 million in 2023.FerrAl United Group is a globally active automotive supplier of castings and forgings based in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, with more than 30 sites worldwide.

Listed private equity holding Mutares, headquartered in Munich, acquires companies in transformational situations. For the 2024 financial year a Group turnover of EUR5.7 billion to EUR6.3 billion is expected.
