Baker McKenzie advises Cohere on Reliant AI acquisition
Baker McKenzie has advised Cohere on its acquisition of Reliant AI, an AI software company specialising in generative AI solutions and automated data analysis for the biopharma and healthcare industries.
Reliant AI, founded in 2023, operates offices in Montreal and Berlin. Its three co-founders — Karl Moritz Hermann, Richard Schlegel, and Marc G. Bellemare — will join Cohere as part of the deal.
Cohere, founded in 2019 by Aidan Gomez, Ivan Zhang, and Nick Frosst and headquartered in Toronto, plans to integrate Reliant AI’s technology into its product North for Pharma — an agentic AI system designed for biopharma teams working in research and development, clinical development, and scientific analytics.
