Freshfields advises banking consortium on €6.5bn Amprion green RCF

Freshfields has advised a banking consortium led by BNP Paribas, ING and UniCredit on a €6.5 billion Energiewende green revolving credit facility (RCF) for Amprion, a transmission system operator whose 11,000-kilometre extra-high voltage grid spans seven German federal states from the North Sea to the Alps, serving 29 million people.

The financing carries an initial tenor of five years, with two one-year extension options and an incremental facility option of €2 billion, all subject to the approval of each participating bank.
