The advisors of ICG Infra on partnership with W Power Storage

Led by partners Dr. Tim Heitling and Dr. Thomas Dörmer (PICTURED LEFT AND RIGHT), Hogan Lovells advised the European infrastructure team of global alternative asset manager ICG on its partnership with W Power Storage, a German platform for grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Heidelberg-based W Power Storage has extensive expertise in land acquisition, permitting processes, engineering, construction, and the operation of large-scale battery storage systems. With the support of ICG Infra, the platform plans to invest up to €500 million in the execution of its multi-gigawatt BESS project pipeline, including projects that are already operational as well as those currently under construction. In addition, the platform contributes to the objectives of the EU Green Deal and Germany’s climate neutrality targets. The newly established partnership further complements ICG Infra’s existing energy transition portfolio.
