The advisors of BPD on sale of “Baufeld 2” in Dortmund’s Karlsquartier to Vivawest

Led by Düsseldorf partner Dr. Tobias Strohmeier (PICTURED), global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised BPD Immobilienentwicklung on the sale of “Baufeld 2” on the site of the former Westfalenhütte in Dortmund to housing company VIVAWEST.

On the approximately 6,800 square meter Baufeld 2 site, VIVAWEST plans to construct 154 new apartments, some of which will be publicly subsidized, with a total living space of more than 11,300 square meters. Additionally, an underground garage with around 90 parking spaces will be built on the site in the coming years. All residential buildings will comply with KfW Standard 40-EE and will be heated in a resource-efficient manner using district heating. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in mid-2027, with completion planned for mid-2029.
