New entry partner for McDermott: it’s Matthias Weissinger

The Munich office of McDermott Will & Emery has announced another addition: Matthias Weissinger (pictured) joined the US law firm as a partner in November. The 46-year-old financing specialist was previously a partner at Ashurst in Munich, where he used to focus on acquisition and unitranche financing as well as corporate loans and restructuring issues. Most recently, for example, he advised Hayfin Capital Management on the financing of the acquisition of the Realeyes Group by Zentrum Gesundheit, a portfolio company of Nord Holding.

McDermott has recently expanded in Munich with lateral hires. The private equity practice gained Holger Ebersberger from Noerr and Hanno Witt from Latham & Watkins. Ludwig Zesch, who also moved from Latham in May, will now work with Weissinger to integrate the acquisition finance division more closely with the PE and transaction team. The credit and acquisition finance practice led by Dr Oliver Lieth comprises around a dozen professionals.
