Mike Gordon is Chiesi’s new group general counsel
Mike Gordon (pictured) is the new group general counsel and executive vice president of Chiesi, international pharma group focused on the research, development and commercialisation of innovative therapeutic solutions in respiratory health, rare diseases and specialty care. The group works in the following jurisdictions: Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Russian Federation, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Sweden, Turkey.
The new general counsel takes over from Marco Vecchia, who led the in-house legal department from 1987 to 2024.
Joining Chiesi in 2014 as vice president, head of legal affairs and general counsel USA, Gordon began his career as an assistant to New York District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau. He worked first as an associate and then as a partner at the law firm Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina, and later became a partner at the international law firm K&L Gates, LLP. He is admitted to the bar in North Carolina and New York State. He holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from Tulane University.
