Lark advises Synaforce on Fairbanks acquisition
Lark advised Synaforce, a data centre and cloud solutions group with roots in Germany, on the acquisition of the Dutch Fairbanks International Group in a cross-border transaction. The deal also encompasses 42on, a provider of the scalable open-source storage platform Ceph, which Fairbanks had acquired in 2019.
Fairbanks is a specialist in open-source cloud infrastructures, and the acquisition gives synaforce — backed by private equity investor Afinum — its first foothold in the Dutch market. The move follows a series of German add-on acquisitions through which the current synaforce Group was built, most recently the purchase of Berlin-based Hns Hardware Netzwerke Software.
The legal teams
The Lark team was led by Ludger Schult (pictured) and included Eva-Maria Bayer-Kotiers and Nino Häberlein, all from the private equity/M&A practice, alongside Anselm Lenhard and Philipp Büchler from the finance practice. The Lark team led by Ludger Schult has advised synaforce on all its German add-on acquisitions, including the acquisition of Hns.
Dutch law advice was provided by Pels Rijcken, with Carel van Swaay, Jordy de Meij and Lennard Steenmetser acting on the matter.
