Hogan Lovells makes big hire boosting its private equity offering
Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced several strategic hires in Germany boosting its global Private Equity practice as of January 1, 2025. Partners Dr. Jan Philipp Feigen and Dr. Maximilian Menges (PICTURED, LEFT AND RIGHT), both from Ernst & Young Law, became part of the firm’s Private Equity and Funds practice area and are now based in the Hamburg office. Feigen will lead the German private equity practice and represent it within the global private equity leadership team, in collaboration with Dr. Jörg Herwig and Dr. Christoph Naumann.
Feigen and Menges advise international and national clients on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, management incentive programs and general corporate law matters with a focus on advising on private equity transactions. The two partners have a wealth of experience in advising leading private equity funds, with a particular emphasis on platform acquisitions, add-ons, and portfolio work. They also advise corporate venture transactions.
Additional hires
In addition to the lateral hires at partner level of Feigen and Menges, six other team members have joined: Dr. Malte Ingwersen, Dr. Daniel Mattig, Daniel Martin Schulz, Dr. Philipp Strümpell (all Counsel), Dr. Sebastian Merkel (Associate), and Björn Thorben Stute (Project Associate).
Ingwersen joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, while all other new hires come from the legal arm of the Big Four firm EY. Feigen, Menges, and Ingwersen previously worked together as a team at the law firm Latham & Watkins.
“Through the strategic expansion of the private equity practice with an experienced and well-coordinated team, we can develop entirely new capabilities that benefit our clients. We provide modern, top-tier advice on complex, cross-border transactions, supported by the strength of a globally connected team,” said Feigen.
