Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advises öGIG on debt financing
Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised Österreichische Glasfaser-Infrastrukturgesellschaft (öGIG), an Austrian developer of open-access fibre-optic networks, on its first debt financing, which has a total volume of 225 million. The funding comes from BayernLB, KfW, Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Deal details
öGIG is a private-sector developer of open-access fibre-optic networks in Austria. In 2019, its parent company Allianz made a substantial commitment to Austrian broadband expansion, initially financing the network build-out entirely through equity. After several years of network expansion, the new debt financing changes öGIG’s capital structure and provides the basis for its next phase of growth. öGIG intends to use the additional funds to continue the private-sector rollout of open-access fibre-optic networks across Austria.
