Greenberg Traurig advises AEW on acquisition of a logistics new build near Hanover
Greenberg Traurig has advised AEW on the acquisition of a logistics new build in Hanover-Sehnde. The seller of the approximately 50,000 square meter logistics property is the E-Group. Greenberg Traurig’s team was composed by partners Dr. Henning Sieber (Real Estate/M&A, lead), Claudia Stremel (Tax Law), associates Jan Schwartzkopff and Alexander Nagel (both Real Estate/M&A), and Anja Giddings (Real Estate/M&A) as transaction lawyer.
More details on the deal
The sale was conducted as an off-market transaction, excluding public access and the public real estate market. The purchase price was approximately 70 million euros.
The logistics center, spanning over two buildings and divided into five units, was completed at the end of 2023. The spaces are fully leased. AEW, a global real estate investment and asset manager, acquired the property for its Eurocore fund, focused on sustainable construction and long-term profitability.
Greenberg Traurig advised on the acquisition as part of a forward purchase sale, where the purchase takes place during the project development phase and the full purchase price is paid upon completion.
Background:
AEW regularly engages Greenberg Traurig for real estate transactions in the logistics, office, and commercial sectors. Most recently, the Greenberg Traurig team assisted AEW in 2021 on behalf of a German investor in the acquisition of a city logistics project near Warsaw.
