German practice strengthened: DLA Piper names six new counsel
A total of six lawyers from within DLA Piper’s own ranks have been promoted to counsel effective July 1, 2025.
The new Counsel are (PICTURED LEFT TO RIGHT): Daniel Osmanovic (Frankfurt) and Rune Jelte Weltz (Hamburg) from the Corporate practice group, Dr. Lucas Blum (Munich) from the IP & Technology practice group, Bastian Froschhammer (Munich) from the Litigation & Regulatory practice group, Thomas Herbst (Munich) from the Real Estate practice group, and Albina Daka (Frankfurt) from the Tax practice group.
Daniel Osmanovic advises international companies and private equity investors on cross-border transactions, joint ventures, restructurings, and corporate law matters. A particular focus of his work lies in leveraged buy-outs, management participations, and complex restructurings.
Rune Jelte Weltz assists national and international companies with M&A and venture capital transactions as well as the structuring of corporate law arrangements. Additionally, he has real estate law expertise, particularly in asset deals.
Dr. Lucas Blum advises on digital transformation projects and data-based applications with a focus on compliant data use and EU data regulation. As Co-Lead of the DLA Piper EU Digital Decade Task Force, he supports clients on strategic issues surrounding data protection, cybersecurity, and innovative technologies such as IoT, AI, and data analytics.
Bastian Froschhammer represents national and international companies in complex commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings. His focus lies on insolvency and real estate disputes as well as defense in mass proceedings.
Thomas Herbst specializes in complex real estate transactions and advises on high-volume, including cross-border deals, as well as project developments. His focus lies on the asset class of Logistics & Industrials, particularly on issues of contamination, conversion, and creation of building rights.
Albina Daka is a lawyer and tax advisor with a focus on national and international tax law at the interface with investment supervisory law. She advises regulated investors and family offices on cross-border fund investments in various asset classes as well as initiators on the structuring and launching of investment funds. Another focus area lies in the tax structuring of real estate and renewables investments.
