EY advises Funecap on acquisition of stake in Rhein-Taunus-Krematorium
EY Law has provided counsel to Funecap Germany GmbH on the acquisition of a stake in Rhein-Taunus-Krematorium GmbH. The acquisition follows the departure of a previous shareholder. The Federal Cartel Office has already granted clearance for the acquisition.

Rhein-Taunus-Krematorium GmbH operates the Rhein-Taunus Crematorium located in Dachsenhausen near Koblenz. The company, which is family-owned, boasts eight modern cremation facilities, positioning it among the largest crematoria in Europe. In the course of this transaction, the managing family Könsgen has increased their own stake in Rhein-Taunus-Krematorium GmbH.
Funecap Germany GmbH is part of the Funecap Group, established in 2010 with its headquarters in Paris. The Funecap Group operates a total of 120 crematoria across Europe, ranking as the second-largest provider of funeral services and crematoria in France. Through Facultatieve Deutschland, the group also holds interests in several crematoria in Germany, each operated as entirely independent entities.
