Baker McKenzie advises Trane Technologies on investment in Kieback&Peter
Baker McKenzie has advised Trane Technologies, a publicly traded company specializing in innovative climate technology solutions, on a strategic investment in the Kieback&Peter Group (K&P), a European market which builds automation software and solutions based in Berlin.
Trane Technologies is acquiring a 49 percent minority stake in K&P and will receive an option to complete a full acquisition after three years. The agreement also includes a commercialization arrangement enabling both companies to collaborate in new ways and cross-sell their complementary solutions to their respective customers. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to regulatory approvals.
“Thanks to our cross-practice and cross-border team, we were once again able to support our longstanding client Trane Technologies on a significant transaction. The stake in K&P gives Trane Technologies access to innovative building automation software and the opportunity to realize synergies in developing sustainable climate solutions while substantially expanding its distribution network. We are proud to contribute to strengthening our client’s market position and implementing their growth strategy,” commented Dr. Florian Kästle, one of the lead partners on the transaction.
