Baier partner joins law firm Sabadello Legal

Experienced arbitration and corporate lawyer Gregor Grubhofer (pictured) has joined Vienna-based law firm Sabadello Legal in September. The 49-year-old comes from the arbitration law firm Baier, where he’s been a salary partner for more than 18 years.

Grubhofer specialised in arbitration matters, especially in construction and plant engineering disputes, and also acts as an arbitrator. He was part of the Baier team that represented Strabag, Raiffeisen Centrobank and Syrena Immobilien in an ICSID case against Poland (Gz. ADHOC/15/1). He also advised on M&A transactions and corporate law and represented insurers in disputes, often in cooperation with international law firms.

At Sabadello, he joins three colleagues experienced in real estate, administrative and labour law, significantly expanding the unit’s expertise. Sabadello Legal currently has a total of four lawyers and five more people from the staff. In addition, the firm has also an office in Stockholm, where the mananing partner Andreas Sabadello is admitted to the bar. Grubhofer and Sabadello both have careers at Baker McKenzie.

Second change since summer for Baier

For Baier, Grubhofer’s move is the second departure within a few months. Last July, arbitration lawyer and salary partner Erhard Böhm left the firm too, to join Martin Platte’s boutique as of counsel.
