Anke Allenhöfer steps up to Legal Director at Helsing

Anke Allenhöfer (pictured) has been promoted to Legal Director at Helsing, announcing the move in a Linkedin post in which she thanked her colleagues for their support.

Allenhöfer joined Helsing in April 2024 as Lead Counsel Germany. Her professional background spans defence procurement, military artificial intelligence and international humanitarian law, combining legal expertise with military experience.

Alongside her corporate role, she serves as a lieutenant colonel in the German armed forces reserve. Her military experience includes a KFOR deployment to Pristina, Kosovo, from January to May 2018, and participation in a German-American reserve officer exchange programme in 2019.

Allenhöfer also holds advisory positions in organisations concerned with defence and technology. She joined the advisory board of Rüstung, Sicherheit & Recht in September 2025 and the international advisory board of the Responsible by Design Institute in February 2026.

In her announcement, she described the pace of work at Helsing as part of its appeal, using a surfing metaphor to convey her enthusiasm for the new role: “Now on to the next wave.”
